There is much to be said for the programmer that can zone themselves out from all the noise in the office. I used to work with such a programmer. She would sit and code with her headphones on (not uncommon for most programmers), but what made Taryn unique was that she was very good at programming. She had her ‘thing’ down to a T, and would pump out excellent code in copious amounts of C# or Visual Basic on a daily basis. (more…)

Social Media Family – How much of your personal information is available on-line for any passer by to see? It seems that every app on your smartphone wants you to integrate it with your Facebook or Twitter account. In fact, there are apps out there that don’t allow for another type of account creation.
I do admit that while integrating some of your smartphone apps with Facebook certainly does improve the user experience (such as with QuizUp for example), I am careful of allowing that level of integration with every app.
